Cross-examining physicians:
Ms. Sims has assisted lawyers in cross-examining physicians throughout the U.S. in trial and deposition. Included within this service is a detailed background search on the medical expert and an analysis consisting of:
- Abstracts of articles published.
- All cases, state and federal, in which the doctor is cited
- Licensure verification
- Contacting other lawyers for orders/information on the medical witness.

Preparing a notebook for trial assisting the lawyer in cross-examining the Witness
This includes a detailed background research on the medical expert including, if requested, purchasing any relevant books/articles authored by the expert and pointing out areas of inconsistency and references to prior depositions.
All material sent to the lawyer is bate stamped with an index for ease of identification.
Please be aware that she schedules on a first come first serve basis so securing a deposition date is imperative. To schedule a deposition or telephone conference please send an email to Coreen Yawn at cly@ocalaw.com and send along a scanned copy of the report you'd like addressed. If you would like a conference with Ms. Sims, please contact Ms. Yawn to schedule same.
Please note: Ms Sims devotes 8 hours per week towards volunteering for other lawyers, including legal aid lawyers and assistant public defenders and prosecutors in cases in which Ms. Sims has an interest. She also volunteers through giving speeches around the U.S. and other countries and as such, typically her schedule is tight so advance notice is necessary.
